Kings House School School Introduction

This school was born out of a dream to provide a quality and inspirational Christian education for the children of King’s Church International and the local community.

Teamwork between teachers, parents and the church family, lies at the heart of all we want to achieve in the school.

Together we aim to offer an education that incorporates academic learning, character development, Biblical teaching and the positive experience of an affirming Christian community.

We believe every child matters. Every child is unique. Every child deserves the best possible education.

We aim to do our best to provide such an education so that, in the years to come, children will be thankful that we gave them the opportunity to be part of The King’s House School, Windsor.

Brief

The brief we received from Kings House School, was to provide an outdoor facility to provide additional teaching space for the school.

Following the site survey, it was decided to design an Eco Classroom to provide learning space, kitchen area and toilet facility’s.

The client specified Timber external cladding, therefore Western Red Cedar was specified.

With small children in mind, our design included plenty of natural lighting with a large open area to learn.

Solution

Bridge Eco Classroom designed the exact building the customer specified. The building was manufactured from Structural Insulated Panels, with 125mm panels for walls and 175mm for the floor and ceiling. The external cladding was Western Red Cedar as originally specified. For the building to conform we supplied Aluminium double doors to the front elevation, with matching anthracite grey windows.

Internally the classroom was finished with plasterboard and skim to all walls and ceiling. The internal floor was finished with commercial graded laminate flooring and skirting board.

Our electrical package consisted of down lights to provide plenty of light, power sockets and consumer unit.

To conform with building control a air conditioning unit was fitted for heating and cooling.

This summer we appointed Bridge Timber to build our new Pre School Classroom for 25 children in our growing school.

They designed a beautiful seventy square meter structure using the latest energy efficient methods and materials. Cladded in cedar wood it looks beautiful and fully in keeping within the conservation area where it is sited.
