Froxfield C of E Primary School

Froxfield Cof E Primary School – Introduction

Welcome to Froxfield CofE Primary School

For me, it is a huge privilege to be Headteacher and it is my very great honour to work with our dedicated Governors, to lead such a successful, thriving school.  It is a very friendly community, where children are encouraged to become confident, caring and articulate individuals and to use their abilities to the full.  We provide a calm and happy atmosphere in an outstandingly beautiful environment within a caring, Christian ethos that underpins the life and work of the school.
At Froxfield we always put children first; this aim is at the heart of our vision which you will find throughout this website.  We recognise that every child is unique and deserves the opportunity to be happy, feel valued and experience success.  If, in future years, our children look back and say that Froxfield CofE Primary School made a positive difference to their lives then we, as professionals and parents, will have succeeded.

With warmest wishes,

Mrs Vickie Farrow

Brief

Contact was made by Melody from the school finance office, her original brief was the school were interested in a potential new classroom in addition to the learning facility’s currently at Froxfield Primary.  The structure was to be a standalone classroom and would need to accommodate approx. 28 additional children.

With conditions applied due to the schools neighbour a site survey was arranged for Paul our Sales Director.  Paul met with Melody to discuss the conditions and what could be achieved.

The school would require planning permission therefore Bridge Timber would be applied for, Bridge Timber were instructed to process this on Froxfields behalf.  Drawings and elevations were passed to our planning consultant along with all relevant information for the classroom.

Froxfield were awarded planning permission and go-ahead given for the order.

Solution

Excavations works were not required prior to foundation installation.  The chosen foundation for the design was the Helicoil system.

The overall structure was to measure 10m x 6m, the classroom was to be manufactured using SIP Panels (Structural Insulated Panels) which conform to building regulations, 125mm SIPs are used in the floor and walls, with a 175mm SIP for the roof.

Externally the classroom was clad with Thermowood, a kilm dried timber. Thermowood is a natural and renewable resource for construction, but has greater stability and resistance to rot making it a far more dependable product.

Our eco classrooms are all complete with Aluminium double doors, and some cases bi-fold, in this instance we installed double.  UPVC windows were installed in our standard anthracite grey colour to match the powder coated aluminium doors.

For the roofing, we use box profile roofing sheets, with a UPVC guttering system to the rear.

As standard all classrooms are finished internally with plasterboard skim finish to all walls and ceilings.  Internal decoration can be included in the quotation.

The flooring supplied as standard is commercial grade carpet tiles, with a vinyl flooring fitted into the kitchen/bathroom areas.

As standard our electrical package consist of downlights, quantity is appropriate for the size of the building, power sockets, again this is discussed prior to installation to ensure the school are happy with the quantity.  Heating is discussed prior to installation, and in most cases to conform to building control, SBEM cal’cs along with Air conditioning is required.  Again in this building air condition was supplied.

A stunning building provided to Froxfield, we wish the school and children many of happy years in their new facility.
